Generic POTA Card using FST1 and FST2 in QSOCardCreator

I often go to different POTA sites, and although I have a different card for each Rhode Island site, that is not the case for out of state POTA. It was feasible to create a card for each RI park as there are only 61 of them. When I visit my neighboring state of Massachusetts, which has 414 POTA sites, this is no longer feasible. The Answer? Create a single Generic POTA card and leave the address information and park information off the card and use FST1 and FST2 settings in the ICF file instead. I then take these steps:

  1. Go to a new park.
  2. Upon returning home, copy the last park icf you used.
  3. Rename the copy to the new park name.
  4. Open and edit in Notepad.
  5. Leave the first line alone, as you will just use the same image.
  6. Go down and edit FST1 and FST2 as appropriate.
  7. Done.

This allows to you put the gridsquare for the park, and basic info on the site. For example: FST2:Green River Bluffs Overlook ~ KFF-0050 Mammoth Cave National Park, KY ~ ITU:8 ~ CQ:4 ~ Grid: EM67we

Below is an example of my generic card and ICF settings for FST1 and FST2:
